Workshops

WORKSHOP PROPOSALS: Would you like to facilitate a workshop? Workshop facilitators are responsible for preparing and presenting material during one of three workshop slots. Song swap facilitation means making sure everyone who wants to gets a chance to share a song, making sure the songs stay on topic, etc.

If you are interested in leading a workshop, send your proposal to Tom Neilson (413) 367-9742 or via email at tomneilsonmusic@hotmail.com.

1) Your name, address, phone number, and (if you have it) email.

2) Title of Session

3) Brief description of session

4) Type of session

  • SONG SWAP, in which you facilitate people taking turns sharing songs on a given topic (e.g. labor songs, paordies, Woodie Guthrie songs)

  • INFORMATION/DISCUSSION SESSION, in which you provide information on a topic (e.g. How to start and run a children's chorus) or lead a discussion, (e.g. "Should old songs be changed to reflect changing times?)

  • WORKSHOP, in which you are leading a session and will be the primary presenter or instructor (Afro-Cuban drumming, shape note singing)

5) Audience for session (adults, children or all ages)

Please submit this information by May 25 (We will try to accommodate requests made after this date.) Although we welcome all submissions, we can't guarantee worksop slots in advance. If you submit a request by May 25, we will let you know whether it has been accepted by June 1.
