PMN Artists in Residence Tour Southern New England and NYC

11/26/2017 9:37 AM | Tom Smith (Administrator)

Charlie King & Rick Burkhardt – PMN Artists in Residence for the 2018 Winter Gathering in Boston – are doing a tour of Southern New England and NYC. Both are award winning songwriters and performers who bring to social commentary a passion for comic insight and a well-turned phrase. Edgy harmonies, incendiary lyrics, powerful instrumentation and theatrical hijinks!

Rick Burkhardt is an Obie-award-winning playwright, composer, director, songwriter, and accordionist for The Prince Myshkins. His plays have been produced by New York Theater Workshop, LaMama, and the American Repertory Theater. He is joined by vocalist/harmonist extraordinaire Jermaine Golden.

Charlie King is a songwriter, musical storyteller and political satirist. He has been at the heart of American folk music for more than half a century & is the 2017 recipient of the Phil Ochs Award. His songs have been recorded and sung by Pete Seeger, Holly Near, Ronnie Gilbert, John McCutcheon, Arlo Guthrie, Peggy Seeger, and Chad Mitchell.
