In our first workshop in January, the developers of these three platforms introduced participants to the basic concept of minimizing latency when making music together online, as well as to the unique strengths of their respective platforms.  Each of these three platforms enable singing together without the delay (latency), which makes synchronous singing close to impossible on Zoom and other common video conference platforms.  PMN members are invited to participate in as many of these practice sessions as they wish in order to get a broad view of the available options.

Requirements for Participation:

A. Register for an account on the SoundJack site.  Instructions:

  1. Go to: http://www.soundjack.eu and click "Register."

  2. You will be prompted to respond to an activation email, then to log in.

  3. Go to “DOWNLOAD” tab to get the SJC (Soundjack-Core) and launch it

  4. Read the "10-SJ-COMMANDMENTS" tab

B. You must be a PMN member in good standing. (If you are not a PMN member, you may join here: https://www.peoplesmusic.org/join-PMN)

C. If you did not attend the first workshop, please watch the full video before the practice session.

D. Technical Requirements during the session:

  1. Use headphones or earbuds.  Please do not use a speaker; it will cause feedback.
  2. Using a microphone plugged in to an external audio interface works best.
  3. To minimize latency, please connect your computer to the internet via ethernet connection (not Wifi).

*** Upon completion of the form available at the "Register" button on the left, you will receive an immediate email confirmation.  You will receive the actual Zoom Meeting link for this workshop from Laurie Siegel <earthgull@hotmail.com> at least one day before the practice session begins.
